Who are we ?

Bergère de France, wool made in France

Over half a century of existence... what better proof of our skills and expertise? Over seventy years of creativity and constant adaptation to a changing market have made Bergère de France a major player in the world of knitting yarn.

Created in 1946 by Robert Petit and today under the direction of his son and grandson, Jean-Louis and Geoffroy Petit, Bergère de France is the perfect example of a family business that knew how to develop its activity, notably by equipping itself with one of the finest and largest spinning mills in Europe, established in Lorraine.

The keys to its success? The high-performance of its French industrial unit and its totally integrated structure. Having complete control over the production chain, from yarn to distribution, effectively offers the best means of reducing costs and delivery times, which in turn provide a real competitive edge.

Established in Bar-le-Duc (Meuse, France), in the Lorraine heartland, with 40,000 m² of covered premises, the company employees nearly 200 skilled staff within five main sectors: creation and marketing, production of catalogues and routing, the spinning, order preparation and dispatch, and the administrative and sales departments.

Along with such essentials as the yarn catalogue, the magazines produced during the year, or the ready-to-wear collections and the home craft range, Bergère de France selects the best from the world of knitwear fashion and needlecraft to ensure that every creation is both modern and unique.

With 5 own-name stores in France and a network of over 700 independent retailers, Bergère de France offers its expertise to all knitting enthusiasts, from the beginner to the most experienced. And as we place great importance on making your life as easy as possible, our website also offers our entire range for delivery directly to your door, not just in France but also abroad.
